Greece, Kingdom. An Icon Of Christ Enthroned United Republic of Bronze and enamelA well preserved icon, constructed of gessoed wood. The obverse depicts a hand painted variation of the classic Christ enthroned icon, with Jesus seated on a throne and wearing a blue robe, symbolizing his majesty and humanity, respectively. His right hand is raised in a blessing signifying his initials IC XC ( or JESUS CHRIST), while in his left hand he clutches a a scripture book bearing a direct passage from John 10: 9 in Greek script, reading I AM
