I'd guess earlyish 20th c

with the caged ball like a precious stone at the center

--so one could stack display like a little library

but also a nice one to hang in the entry with "Open House" showing as a sign of welcome and also open-mindedness (or turn it to Auction when you are fed up with it all

Maybe it is because I am posting this hand puppet as I listen to the Trump impeachment hearings

Antique Copper Sulky Driver from Old Weathervane Menu candleholders I'd guess earlyish 20th cCertainly this old guy once sat on a sulky behind a horse as part of a fine antique weathervane, I'd guess early 20th century. The rest of it may live on somewhere else, and I'd guess he once had arms, too, though there is really no sign of welding along his shoulders, so perhaps he was never finished? At any rate, I rather love him now just as he is, a mix of elegant and awkward, forever holding this funny posture, which keeps making me think of him
