Southwark Cathedral, London mb-width 5763 In the background is Sadler'sSouthwark Cathedral, London, 1831. South west view of the new transept in Southwark Cathedral. Southwark Cathedral was originally the priory church of St Mary Ovarie. In 1539, at the Reformation, the Priory was supressed and it became the parish church of St Saviour, Southwark. In 1897 St Saviour became Southwark Cathedral.
