Fantastic Old Carving of Woman with Long Hair and Tiny Hands hand-formed pottery Her teachers included Stig LindbergOne of my very favorite carvings I've had, and quite an old one, found in Maine and made of pine I believe. For me, it all hinges on those tiny tiny hands, clasped just below her waist, exactly where her long cloak of hair ends, and exactly where her skirt splits, falling in waves on either side and revealing the underskirt below and quite undermining any sense of primness. When I found her she immediately made me think of Donatello's Mary Magdalene.
